How is the winter training going so far? It won't be long before
the season begins. Don't let it sneak up on you. Dig deep now (even
when it is dark, cold, and wet), not only is it character building, you
will be in top form come summer.
Saturday morning bike rides have been great fun, sometimes
challenging, and a great way to start the day. All welcome, we leave
7:30am from the jockey club-Broadmeadow race course. We ride to the
Oak at Hexam and back for coffee and breaky at Lotus in the Junction
(with the occasional detour up King Edward but you don't have to).
A great friendly group, you are welcome to come along.
JULY CLUB RACE is on Sunday July 15. This is a duathlon at Speers Point Park. For more information contact the Newcastle Tri Club website.
Hi, tomorrow some of us die hards will brave the cold for the weekly ride starting at the Newcastle Jockey Club and going to hexam then back to Lotus in the junction for coffee and breaky. Cathy wont be joining us as she will be off to England and France, poor girl will miss our bike rides. But I still plan on going. All welcome. Laura
If anyone else would like to list training outings please type on!! Perhaps any Ironman Training can be identified for other like minded insane people to join you.
Welcome to the first interactive training site for Newcastle Tri Club members and non-members.
We hope you will contribute to this site on a regular basis to let other know when you are training and where. The beauty of this is training can be more spontaneous and you do not have to have 'set' training days. Others can see daily what training is being done daily. Training with others is not only social but also a great way to stay motivated, especially during the colder winter months.
So--example: Normally there is a ride going each Saturday morning 7:30 from the NJC (Newcastle Jockey Club) in broadmeadow. Ride to Hexam and back to Lotus in the Junction (a few divert to do king edward park first) for coffee, breaky, and conversation. Today I wimped it in the rain but I know Cathy Harbury went for a run instead.
So save this web address, check it regularly, use it, and contribute! Happy Training! Laura Wilson New Tri Club Vice President
